What is the Turtle School?

  • A Nature-Based Program

Children are immersed daily in the outdoors. From planting seeds to identifying leaves, our mission is encourage our turtles to love nature!

  • Neurodivergent Friendly

The Turtle Team strives to build a supportive environment for all learning types. Our curriculum is designed to make space for each child.

  • A Community

When you join the Turtle School, you join a community. We educate the kids & support the parents with resources for at-home learning, emotional regulation, & family dynamics

  • Lots of Fun

Our kids learn that learning is fun! We experiment with new ideas, explore different projects, & develop a desire for knowledge!

  • Homeschool Support

Homeschooling alone can be taxing on parents. Our program provides your child with kind social engagements, self-independence, & the chance to see what community is all about.

  • A New Beginning

The next generation doesn’t have to choose between fun wiht friends & education. We can learn together, grow together, & develop everyone’s unique learning style!

Meet the Team

Katherine Gilder-Founder

A boy mom, veteran, & artist saw a deficit in educational resources. In her heart, she knew children deserve to learn in an environment that supports them. One where they can explore what works for themselves, & also, how to work with others. Thus, the Turtle School was born.

She is an avid hiker, painter, & newly acquainted with the guitar. Her passion lies in connection with others & exploring new things that spark her interest. As a certified herbalist, her love & appreciation for plants grows every day. A love she hopes to instill in the generation to come.

Reagan Bates-Curriculum Coordinator

Reagan is the child of two educators & a proud aunt to wonderful 3-year old. Her passion for The Turtle School comes from her own experiences as a neurodivergent student in public school. This inspired her to create a supportive learning curriculum for children of all types.

She loves puzzles, problem solving, & hands-on experiments that inspire curiosity, exploration, & a passion for learning how things work.
